The morning started okay. Hubby had to go into work early today for a training so he had to leave here by 11:00 am. That is always difficult seeing as how he doesn't get home until like 2:00 am the morning of. We were rushed to say the least. I had some pizza and breadsticks that were leftover from our dinner yesterday so I just warmed those over and fed them to him for lunch. Anika was home with us today. For some reason there was no school today. Don't ask me why, I have no clue. Our school system does really weird things.
After the Hubby left I decided that we needed to get out for a bit even if it was just to run to town. That is my new thing, getting out. I find that if I get out for even a little bit, it seems to do me a world of good. Sitting in the house all the time is depressing or at least it is for me. Anika showered and got herself cleaned up while I hung out with the little ones. She looked so pretty today, I wish I would have taken a picture. She's growing into a beautiful young lady. Bub got him a bath and then I bathed myself and cleaned up. That is something else I have found that helps my mood, cleaning up. I feel better if I take just a little time to put on clothes, do my makeup and fix my hair. I've been making a concious effort to do it and so far I've been doing pretty well. It took us forever to get everyone out of the house and loaded up but we finally got it done. Even going to town is a big deal around here when you have 2 little ones to contend with plus diaper bags, car seats, etc.
On my way out of our road, I stopped and checked the mail. I was shocked to see that they had mailed my Husband's paycheck this time. Normally, he picks it up from the office at his job. I was even more shocked to see that the check was for $0.00. Nope, not kidding, it was literally for nothing. I scanned through all the deductions and saw that they had held $2,300.00 for a State Tax Lien. Oh my God, I almost fainted. Yes, we did owe the State for taxes BUT they held that out of our income tax. Why in the world would they hold it again? You can imagine how fast I backed up my car and ran into the house to the phone. I finally got a hold of Jeff who works in HR and he said he would check on it for me and give me a call back. I was praying it was a mistake. I decided instead of sitting here moping though we would go on to town and so we did.
I needed some retail therapy in a BAD way and I needed it on the cheap. My first stop was the thrift store. I tried to get Anika to go in but she hates the thrift store. She doesn't mind wearing clothes from there but she hates shopping there. She doesn't like to have to dig through junk to find treasures. She sat in the car with the little ones so I made my trip short but I did score some great things.
I found a dress for myself. It's Liz Claiborne and oh so comfortable!
I also found Anika 2 really cute dresses. I was shocked that she liked both of them. Since about 7th grade she has became VERY hard for me to shop for.
We left the Thrift Store and went to town. We stopped by the Gas Station and then went to the Post Office. I had some Ebay Packages & Rehash Packages to mail. Anika ran into the Dollar Store for me to try and find me a calendar but she had no luck. We also stopped by the Store and I picked up some Milk & stuff to make Ravioli tonight. I ran up to the other Dollar Store (yep we have 2) and finally found a calendar & then on our way home we stopped and got us some lunch. The kids just got fries from McDonalds and I got Corndog and Fries from the Dairy Drive Inn.
When I got home I had missed a call from Jeff so I called him back. He gave me numbers to get in contact with Kelly who took care of garnishments.Well, after getting no where with her, I took it upon myself to call the IRS State Division. I spoke with a very nice Gentleman who assured me that they should not have taken the money because he had already sent a release of the levy since the debt had been satisfied. To make a long story short, he pretty much fixed it all. Now we are going to have make an hour trip to pick up his check BUT I'm not complaining. That was much better news than we thought.
Mom called wanting Anika to come up for awhile but Anika wouldn't go and leave Ax. He had been saying Go Nan's all day and Anika said it wasn't fair for her to get to go and not him. Mom told her she would take him too so she came and got both of them. I thought it was sweet of Anika to be so concerned about him. She picked them up around 5:00 and didn't bring them home till almost 9:00. Anika went to a Gymnastics class up town from 7:30 to 8:30. She didn't like it much and is wanting to start another class about an hour away. Mom has agreed to take her. I just can't drag the Little Ones that far and then sit with them with nothing to do for an hour. I guess she is starting the new class on Tuesday.
While the kiddos were gone I did housework and spent some time on Ebay. The peace and quiet was rather nice.
When the kids came home I could immediately tell Anika wasn't doing well. She just had that look about her. I'm not sure what triggered her sadness but she was really down tonight. Bless her heart, she's truly struggling bad. I talked with her awhile and then she went to bed. I'm fairly certain she cried herself to sleep. I have no idea how to help her and as a Mother that is a horrible feeling.
I spent the majority of my evening just chilling and tending to the kiddos. Both still have belly issues from the stomach virus that invaded us. It seems all I do these days is change diapers and clean up spit up. Oh the life of a Mommy. I did make some dinner but I ended up being the only one eating. Anika went to bed before I could even get it fixed for her and I think Ax ate a tiny bite of bread but that was it. I listed some more items for sale on Ebay and had a few phone chats with some friends. My friend Viki informed me that Korea was going to bomb us, wonderful news (NOT).
Hubby called a bit ago and he's on his way home. I'm excited for him to get here so we can go to bed. I'm rather sleepy tonight.
Tomorrow I don't have a big lot of plans. I thought about going to the Mall and letting Ax see the Easter Bunny but I'm just not sure if we will or not. It's about an hour away or more and that is a long drive to see an Easter Bunny. We don't have anything else better to do though so we just may go. I'll just wait and see how we all feel tomorrow.
Dear Friends...Hope you all have had a good Thursday. It's almost the weekend again, Woo Hoo!!!!
Much Love to You All
Angie
