Friday's Summary

Hello all....hope everyone is doing well on this Friday evening. As for me and my crew, we are just fine. My back and shoulders are killing me tonight but that is my own fault. I spend too much time in front of the computer. I really have to start cutting back my internet time. I waste so much of my precious day online. Don't get me wrong, I love the net. I love my Social Networking, Ebay, Pinterest, Etc. BUT I miss out on so much "real life" stuff during the hours I'm surfing the net. I haven't exactly decided how to cure this problem yet and I know I'm definitely not going to unplug totally but I am going to try and figure out how to spend less time online and still get the things I want to do online done.

I took pictures for you today but when I tried to upload them I realized that this new memory card isn't working either. It must be a problem with my jump drive. I'll have to check it out this weekend. That means this is going to be another no picture post again. Sorry, I really did try. Don't worry, your not missing much. Today has been a pretty slow paced day so I didn't have any amazing photos for you anyway.

I didn't get up this morning till after 10:00. I didn't send Anika to school today. Last night when she went to bed she looked so tired and distraught that I thought she needed the extra rest this morning and a day to compose herself. Bless her heart, she's having such a struggle. Please don't think I'm not still angry with her, I am very angry with her BUT at the same time it breaks my heart to see her depressed, hurt and struggling. No matter what she does, she will always be my baby. She doesn't think so right now but one of these days if/when she has children of her own, she will totally understand. My Mommy told me that my whole teenage life and boy was she right. Raising kids is such a tough job. It's not only physically exhausting but it's also mentally exhausting. How the Duggards do it is beyond me. I can't imagine doing this 18 times. Seriously, three is plenty enough for me.

Hubby got paid last night so our first order of business this morning was to go cash his paycheck. I put some in the bank and got some in cash. It's funny how we get all excited for payday only to find that it all goes out in bills. You would think after almost 14 years that we would realize that it's gone as quick as we get it. I met a lady at noon at McDonalds and purchased some formula off of her. She had 7 cans for $60.00 which is a deal for me. I usually give $15.00 or up a can for it so that price made me happy. This is the second time I've bought from her. While we were out we ran into Dollar General to pick up a few things I needed for Tot School today and we went to KFC and picked up lunch to bring home. We also stopped at Rite Aid so I could get some mailing supplies & get Axle's medicine. They put him on Melatonin to help him sleep. I had planned on starting him on it tonight but think I'll wait until tomorrow. He hasn't taken in before and I'd just feel better if the Hubby was home with us when I gave it to him. Yes, I'm weird. I talked o the pharmacist about it & she said it was not a common medicine for kids but they did prescribe it some if the child has night terrors. I'm assuming that is why they gave it to him. I sure hope it helps.

We came home & had lunch. Am I the only one that thinks KFC has the BEST green beans ever? They are so good. Hubby had to work tonight so right after lunch I had to gather his things so he could leave. It makes it tough on 2nd shift where he leaves right in the middle of the day. He has to be out of her by a bit after 1:00 everyday. After he left I spent some time trying to reschedule some appointments. Initially I had a Dentist & Eye Doctor appointment scheduled for Tuesday but after yesterday's doctors appointment, that got all messed up. They scheduled Ax to be at a pathologist on Tuesday. I decided today since he had to be there on Tuesday & Anika had to be in the same town (which is over an hour away) for an appointment on Thursday, I would try to reschedule and get them on the same day. I'd rather be there ALL DAY LONG than to have to make two separate trips this week. Luckily, they had a Pathologist appointment on Thursday open so they will both have appointments Thursday. Ax's Toddler Time at the Library starts on Tuesday so I rescheduled my dentist appointment till Wednesday so we could still do Library Time. The only thing that didn't change was we still all have Eye Appointments on Tuesday. Have I confused you yet? It's okay, I know what I'm doing, MAYBE!!!

Anika and I spent the next little bit cleaning up the house. We had a ton of laundry to put away. I swear I'm the world's worst about stacking up laundry. We also did a little clutter control on the house and cleaned up my bedroom some. That room gets dirtier than any other room in this house. I have no idea why either, we just sleep in there. I've not done much "deep cleaning" lately and it's starting to show. I'm going to have to get my butt in gear and get some things done around here. Straightening up only lasts for so long and then things just start looking all dirty and cluttered!

My Mom had called while we were cleaning & said that my Grandma was needing to go to the store. As bad as I hated to dress the kids & drag them out, I did. It's hard to tell my Granny no about things. She's very sick, barely gets around & her mind is leaving her more every single day. It's truly heartbreaking to see how quickly she has went downhill. The kids and I picked her up & took her to the store. Anika went in and helped her while I sat in the car with the little ones. They were gone forever, I have no idea what they could have possibly looked at that long. After we got her groceries & got her back in the house and lined out, we headed back home. I did go ahead and stop by Rite Aid again to put some money on my Credit Card. I almost forgot that the Electric Bill is due tomorrow morning, oops -

This evening Ax and I did some Tot School. He did really well with our first project. I took Baking Soda & put it in a pan & then I gave him 3 cups of colored vinegar (one blue, one red, one green). I gave him a medicine dropper & let him drop the vinegar into the soda. He had a blast! He struggled with the dropper at first but after showing him a time or two, he caught right on. We discussed each color as he dropped it into the soda so it was good color practice for him. He played with it for a long time & then decided to actually suck up some of the damp soda into the dropper and put it into the cups. Well, you know what happened next. They started bubbling up which he though was hilarious. He actually almost made one overflow. He thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread. As you can imagine, we did this project for a LONG time.

Our second project of the day was one I thought he was going to love. I took blank index cards and drew a line right down the middle of them vertically. On one side I used our foam stickers and put two objects (for example a red train and blue truck). I then laid out matching stickers for him & his job was to find the other red train & blue truck to stick on the other side. The boy is fascinated with stickers so I thought this would be right up his alley. I was badly mistaken. He did one and said "put up". Apparently he wasn't in a sticker mood. I'm not giving up on this idea though because he might love it next time. He's 2, his mind and interests change like the wind.

Our last project today was playing with some stacking cups I picked up at Dollar General today. Since this was a new "toy" he was very interested. They are basically just different sized cups (about 10 of them) and they gradually decrease in size. You start with the largest and start stacking them in one another until you get to the smallest. He didn't do so well with the whole stacking thing. I'm thinking we need to start doing some "Big and Little" exercises. He did enjoy playing with them though & he built a tower out of them several times. He of course then knocked the tower over because he's ALL BOY!!!! We talked about each color as he stacked them so it was good color practice anyway. I'm really focusing on his colors right now.

I'd say today's school time was a success. Even Anika got involved and played with us which is unusual for her. We don't do Tot School on the weekends so we will resume on Monday. Hopefully by then my jump drive will be fixed and I will be able to show you pictures. I hate that you don't get to see today's pictures. I've been working on a plan for next week's school. We are going with a Valentines Day Theme of course. We have a busy week planned though so we will not get to do as many activities as I would have liked. It's okay though, we will enjoy what we do get to do!

I've spent some time online tonight. I've played on Ebay and been sifting through all the Facebook Yard Sale posts. Yeah I know, like I need to be buying anything else. I made the kids some Rice Krispie Treats tonight. Anika loves them. Ax hadn't ever had them & let me tell you, he doesn't like them. One bite and he said "Nasty, don't like". There is still about a 1/2 of a pan left but I'd say Hubby will take care of those when he gets home. Anika fixed us a Homemade Pizza tonight. It was good. She didn't eat a single bite of it though. I'm a bit worried about her eating habits. I'm going to keep a close watch on her over the next few weeks. I don't think she's eating nearly enough. Ax and I ate some of it though & I'm sure hubby will enjoy it tonight too. He loves coming home on nights we have been cooking :)

Speaking of the Hubby, he called a bit ago and said he was on his way home so I guess I should wrap this up. Anika is already sleeping, has been for hours. Part of it is that she is moping over not having a cell or laptop. Sometimes though there is consequences to actions and this is her consequences. Annalee is asleep too but should be waking shortly for her last nightly feeding. Axle though is a different story, he's still awake! We have now watched Bubble Guppies about 15 times since around 9:00. Omg, I am beginning to hate them. If it's not Bubble Guppies it's Spongebob or Dora. Shew, I wish he would find a different cartoon just for a little bit.

Tomorrow Hubby is off work so we are going to get out in the morning and go look at the Side by Side we found. We talked about taking Anika dress shopping but I'm not 100 percent sure yet. I've got to stop by Walmart sometime tomorrow and get some printer ink too.

Well friends...Happy Weekend to You All
I'm sure I'll be back by sometime this weekend with an update

You all have a good one,
Angie
