I could write a 3 page post for you tonight (I have that much running through my brain) BUT I won't. I'm going to just hit the highlights of my thoughts for you. It's not that we have been doing anything fascinating actually quite the contrary, we have had 2 pretty easy at home days. It just seems I'm flustered with lots of thoughts tonight so maybe jotting them down on paper will help. Bear with me, this post is going to be all over the place!
I had my dental work done today: It was freaking terrible and I'm not kidding. There was no pain because I was seriously numb but the noises and pressure made me cringe. I seriously do not like going to the dentist. Luckily though things went well today and he says this will STOP my pain. Praise God, I couldn't have handled much more. I go back next week to have a root canal done. Looks like we are going to be able to save my tooth which makes me very happy :)
Ooey Gooey Butter Cakes are going to be the death of me: Yep, I had another last night. Anything with that much butter and powdered sugar can not be healthy. I think I might be addicted.
Anika got Rubber Bands today: She went to the Orthodontist this morning. Thankfully my Mom was able to take her so we both got to keep our dentist appointments. They put on her rubber bands today and she is not liking them. Frankly, she is over the whole braces thing. She's had them since 4th grade, crazy I know! Her mouth is sore but that is to be expected. She ended up having to miss school today (their first day back since the snow) but what do you do?
I wanted to go to Revival this week: I just don't know if I'm going to be able to fit it in or not though. My Sister in Law called tonight wanting to go Thursday but I can't, we have to be out of town all day that day.
Anika had her nails done today: They are cute...these are her Valentines nails
Speaking of Valentines Day: I was going to do all sorts of crafty things and such, yeah probably not happening. I'll be lucky to get one or two things done. I need to start figuring out what Hubby and I are going to do to celebrate too. Shew, not enough hours in my day! Oh and for those wondering, I totally failed at the "Be My Valentine Marriage Challenge". Yeah, blaming that one on the toothache. Hard to be romantic when your in excruciating pain.
Today was a Tot School success: Yep, we actually started back with Tot School today. Now don't get too excited, we aren't full speed ahead yet but we are attempting. I would love (being the planner I am) to have a weekly theme this week but we don't so we are just winging it. We did three things today and Ax had a blast. I MUST keep up Tot School for him, he loves it.
Project 1- We worked in our sticker book. We completed two pages about learning colors. Ax did okay, everything is still "orange" if you ask him but he did enjoy it. The first was an underwater scene that he had to decorate with stickers of colored fish. The other was a page of colored shopping baskets and he had to put stickers of fruit in the right basket based on their color. He did at least repeat the colors (correctly) after I would tell him what they were. That in my book is progress. I'm going to need to find him some more sticker books though, he enjoys them so much.
Project 2- Was putting erasers on pencils. I bought a pack of pencils and a pack of colored erasers. I gave him 10 of each and we spent at least a 1/2 hour on this project. I could not believe just how much he enjoyed it. He would put the erasers on and we would name their colors. He would also try to stack the erasers on top of each other and laugh when they would fall. We put our supplies up to use again. This was definitely a winning project with him. He loved it. It helped with his colors and his hand eye coordination :)
Project 3- We read his Spongebob Pop Up Book. This is one of the books he can't play with regularly. He is really rough with his books and I don't want him to tear up the Pop Ups so this was a special treat. He is very into Spongebob right now so he named all the characters while I read. In the book there is a boat (pop up) and I couldn't help but laugh when he was making noises and trying to drive it. It was too cute!
I'm not quite sure what we will do tomorrow but hopefully it goes as well as today :)
Speaking of Tot School- I had some leftover money in a Paypal account that I didn't know I had until the other day. I told you a few days ago that I ordered "The Happiness Project" for myself out of it. I've yet to get it but can't wait till I do. Well today I ordered us a Tot School purchase. We are now awaiting the arrival of these lacing beads. I think my Little Man is going to really enjoy these :)
We have decided what we want to do with our Income Tax Return: After lots of conversation, we decided that this year we would spend it on something our whole family could enjoy. We are looking at possibly buying one of these! Yeah, looks like fun doesn't it?
As you can tell, productivity has NOT been my strong point this week: Really, I have gotten nothing accomplished that I've needed too. I decided tonight that I really need some structure. I waste enormous amounts of time on the internet and really need to quit. In order to try and stay on track I've created a new "schedule" (I use that term loosely) for myself. Wish me luck!
The kids have a Doctor's Appointment on Thursday: I'm thinking since we will already be in the area, it would be a good day to visit the Science Center. We will call it a Field Trip for Tot School!
Anika is wanting to go Dress Shopping: I'm hoping this Saturday if the Hubby is off work, we can go. She LOVES dress shopping. She's such a diva :)
Well friends, that sums up a bit of what is on my mind. I'm off here now to go read a few blogs before Hubby gets home from work. Tomorrow is just another day here in paradise & not too much on the agenda but I'll be back tomorrow night for another update.
Hope you all are having a GREAT week thus far!
Angie

Anika's nails look great! Sorry she isn't happy with her rubberbands. I have to make an appt to take Ash to the Ortho - apparently she doesn't have the right number of teeth in her mouth - so her dentist directed me to an Ortho :( She is so mad.
ReplyDeleteThat ranger looks like fun!! The family will for sure love it.
Yay for Tot School. I'm glad you were able to sneak some in. I'm sure Ax loves it.
The lacing beads will be a hit too I'm sure.
I'll have to look up the recipe for that Ooey Gooey Butter Cake! YUM
