Pay It Forward

I'm SO behind on my blogging and I'm not even kidding! I have meant to blog all weekend long but just haven't gotten around to it. Tonight I finally decided I better do a post and catch up or I'd never remember everything that went on for the past few days. My memory isn't great anyway. I call it "mommy brain".

Friday was a pretty quiet day around here. The Hubby worked dayshift so it was just the kids and I. Anika was home from school once again due to her sinus infection. It was nice having her home all day. I miss her when she has to go to school. I made some sausage & eggs with biscuits for breakfast, we lounged around the biggest part of the morning & made a quick trip to town around midday. We came home and did a little housework but nothing major. While I was putting things away I did remember to finally snap a pic of Annalee's Valentine Dress that her Aunt Viki made her. She's going to look so cute in it.

I laid out all of our Church clothes and then we got ready one by one. While we were getting cleaned up, I threw together a quick meal. I found this dinner in a box at Save a Lot the other day while shopping. It was pretty much complete except for adding the chicken. It was super simple to make too. It had macaroni cheese, chicken & broccoli in it. Frankly, I HATED it. The macaroni was just gross if you asked me. Anika totally agreed with me and didn't eat but just a few bites BUT Hubby and our Renter loved it so I guess it's just different strokes for different folks.

We were all cleaned up and ready to go by about 6:00. My parent's showed up to keep the little two for us and SJ, Anika & I headed out for Church. I've been going to a Revival up town for the past two weeks now. This is the LONGEST Revival I've ever saw. People are getting saved every single night and as long as souls are getting saved, the Revival will continue. It was a good service. This was the first time Anika or my Husband went and I was so thankful for them joining me. I think my Husband enjoyed it. It's a loud church and quite different than what he was used to as a child. There is so much spirit in that little church though that it is hard to walk away not happy. I don't know if he will ever return, I can only hope BUT I was sure glad to have him that one night. As for my daughter, I don't know what her opinion was. She doesn't really say to much. The pastor was also her principal so I'm sure it was interesting for her to see him in a different light. Service wasn't over till after 9 pm so when we got home Hubby hit the hay. He had to work the next morning so it was already past his bedtime. I went to bed with him because I was just plain exhausted.

Saturday I should have gotten up early with the Hubby went he went to work but I just couldn't make myself do it. The kids and I ended up sleeping in until pretty late. I debated & debated as to if I wanted to go thrifting or not and so I finally decided to go. We went to a town about a 1/2 hour away. I made Cato's my first stop to shop their clearance racks. I was on a mission to find myself some church clothes. Anika sit in the car with the two little ones since Cato's doesn't have buggies so I did a quick browse only. I found two skirts while I was there. One was a long solid black maxi. I haven't ever been one to wear long skirts but the material was so comfortable I just couldn't pass it up. It was marked down to $7.99. The other was a printed goldish colored skirt. It was very flowy and with the right top I think it will be cute. It was marked down to $5.99.

The circles are just a reflection!

My second stop of the day was Goodwill. I tried to talk Anika in to going in with me but she didn't want to. She said she would rather sit in the car with the little ones and play on her phone. I let her which was a HUGE mistake. I was in there probably 30 minutes or so. I found some really cute things (I'll take pics as soon as they come out of the wash) at a decent price. Goodwill is getting expensive my friends! When I went back to the car I saw Ax roaming around inside of it freely. I didn't think much about it and buckled him up. It was when I went to start the car that I realized letting him roam was a bad idea. He had apparently had everything on the car that did something doing it at the same time because the battery was deader than a door knob. It wouldn't even crank. Normally I would have freaked out but this time I didn't. I called Hubby and he said he would come on over as soon as he got home & grabbed some jumper cables. Before he left though I caught a Man and Lady I knew from here going through the parking lot and they helped me. All in all I think we were stuck there about an hour but I'm just thankful we found someone we knew to help.

I swung by Food City before heading on home & picked up one of their Deli Chickens. I knew the very last thing I wanted to do was come home and cook. I also made a quick stop by Rite Aid to put money on my Credit Card to pay my Cable Bill. I had planned to pay it while I was out but they closed before we actually got the car started.

I had EVERY intention of going to Church Saturday night but I just didn't make it home in time. I was kind of bummed because the Preacher I wanted to listen to was preaching that night. I missed a good service too because 1 got saved and baptized that night. Since I didn't get to go to Church, I made my family some dinner which was super yummy. We had Chicken, Stove Top Stuffing, Noodles and Crescent Rolls. That night I took the little ones out to the garage with me and Hubby & I shot game after game of pool. He won every single game. He strutted around like a chicken. It was the funniest thing ever. I think we finally got in the bed around 11:00 or so.

Sunday morning I debated on if I wanted to go to service or not. I woke a little too late so I decided to stay home and go to the Revival instead on Sunday night. I spent my day laying around the house for the most part. I got interested in two Lifetime movies and couldn't drag my rump away from the television. It felt good to just lay around. The only thing I actually managed to do was clean out the refrigerator. Hubby had a nice refrigerator in his garage that he traded for and we had decided to move it into the house and my old one into his garage so he wanted me to get it cleaned out for him. Ax spent some time outside riding his motorcycle. He's making a real muddy mess of my yard. Anika helped me straighten the house and then she spent her day texting away.

I made supper yesterday evening. We had Crockpot Steak and Carrots, Scalloped Potatoes, Pinto Beans and Bread. It was a GOOD meal. After dinner Hubby went to the garage to entertain a buddy of his that stopped by & I got ready for Church. My Mom and Sister in Law went to Revival with me. The kids stayed home with the Hubby.

Revival once again was good. 2 people got saved and 2 went forth to ask for prayer. The service was raw & honest but it was a good service. I think I left the Church with all sorts of mixed emotions and I may have said I wasn't going back. Religion weighs heavy on my heart and it's a real struggle for me sometimes. As a sinner, the truth hurts I guess. When I got home last night Hubby was still in the garage. Sometimes I feel like he's a college kid (he's 35 so he's not) and it drives me insane. I don't think it was as much him last night though as it was I was just having a rough evening. It was after midnight when he came in last night and I was a bit annoyed so I didn't have a lot to say. I just kept my mouth shut. I think that is sometimes the best thing to do. We went to bed around 1:00 am and I fell fast asleep. I was tired!

That brings us current my friends. Shew, that was a LOT of stuff to remember. Today is Monday though and it's a start to a new week. Anika is already gone to school & I'm thinking Annalee and I will go jump back in bed for a bit. I need to go pay my water bill sometime today and run by the store. I'm not sure what else is on the agenda but I do know Anika has cheer practice tonight so I will be running her to and from there.

Before I go, I wanted to do something here on my blog that I've been doing on Facebook. Have you seen the 2013 Pay it Forward? Here is the details

2013 Creative Pay-It-Forward: The first five people to comment on this blog will receive from me, sometime in the next calendar year, a gift - perhaps a book, or baked goods, or a candle, music - a surprise! There will likely be no warning and it will happen whenever the mood strikes me. The catch? Those five people must make the same offer in their blogs...... ( If you're not going to pay it forward -- PLEASE do not comment)
(and be sure to inbox me your address if you're in the top 5)

If you would like to participate, just comment! The first 5 will get a goodie from me!

I think this is an awesome idea and hope you will play along my friends. What better way to start out 2013 than to   Pay it Forward, right?

Well, that does it for me...Happy Monday loves. Hope all has a wonderful week.

Angie
