Friday Through Monday

Our weekend was a fantastic one dear friends!

Friday was a snow day for Anika so she got to stay home with us all day. We didn't get much snow but any snow that we do get causes hazardous travel around here. We have lots of hills and mountains & most everything is narrow two lane road. We got more ice out of the event but it was nice to see a little snow on the ground. Frankly, I wanted a foot but of course, it didn't happen.

Friday was also a VERY important day. It was the love of my life's birthday. Yep, the Hubby turned 35 years old on Friday. I seriously cannot believe he's 35. I still see him as the 20 year old boy I married 14 years ago. Isn't it funny how we age in our body but our hearts remain young? Unfortunately he had to work 2nd shift Friday night so we only had a few hours with him that morning. We spent our time just being together. He cut Axle's hair and although I took 50 shots trying to get a good pic, I never got one to show you. For some reason he did funny stuff with his face in every pic I took. He looks much better though, take my word on it. I made us dinner & then by 1:30 he was leaving for work. We hated to see him go but was glad he was going to have the weekend off.

Anika and I was productive on our snow day though. It was too cold to do anything outdoors and the roads were too slick to go anywhere so we decided to clean out her closet. It was a mess my friends. Her and Annalee were sharing a closet so my first order of business was to go through all of Annalee's things and move them into the closet in the playroom. In doing so, I weeded out a ton of stuff that no longer fit her. I bagged up all of her really good things (outfits my Aunt bought her, things with tags still attached & all the dresses Viki made her) and set them aside to give to my cousin Krissy. She's expecting a girl in a few months. I bagged up the other things (still good stuff) and set aside for my Sister in Law to pick up. She knows a young lady who is ready to have a little girl who was in desperate need of some baby stuff. I managed to find a whole bag of sleepers and such for her. I still have another drawer or two full of stuff to go through but the majority of it was in the closet. I also sorted through Anika's things and let her decide what she wanted to keep and what she wanted to get rid of. The things she no longer wanted I'm going to list on Swapstyle (a website to swap clothing out with others). It was a VERY long process but her closet now looks so much better. I still need to go through the things on the top of it but I'll do that at a later date. Here is some before and after pics for you.

The SERIOUS before mess

The After Result- Much better

The rest of our evening was pretty laid back. I straightened up the remainder of the house, fixed the kids some Stuffed Shells and Garlic Bread, spent some time online blogging and such, took a 2 hour nap and watched a great little movie on demand. Have you ever saw it? It has Eddie Murphy & Martin Lawrence in it & it's such a cute movie!

The Hubby ended up getting home around 1:30 am & we chatted for awhile before turning into bed. I was really glad that it was the weekend & I was going to be able to sleep in.

Saturday I REALLY slept in. I'm talking I slept till noon folks. Isn't that ridiculous? Oh well, I enjoyed every moment of it. The Hubby on the other hand got up around 9:30 and went to town. He got his check cashed & ran to the parts store to pick up some parts for my car.

The kids & I got cleaned up and went to town. We had to pick up some things for the Hubby's Birthday. I also ran over and picked up Anika's friend Brooke so she could spend the night.

We celebrated the Hubby's Birthday with a small party for just us. I picked up a bucket of Fried Chicken from KFC and we had Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans & Biscuits as our sides. We also celebrated with Cake. I had the lady next door make his cake for me and she did an awesome job. I was so pleased with it.

Of course no party is complete without a present so Hubby opened a small gift from the kids. It wasn't much but he seemed to like it. They got him a new set of jumper cables. He was just telling me the other day that he had misplaced his old set so I knew he could use them.

Saturday evening was when we were supposed to have our date night but due to not knowing how bad the weather was going to get, we had to cancel. We had planned on an awesome snow tubing trip together and then an overnight stay at the Ski Resort. Maybe we can work it in before Winter is over! Since the weather didn't actually get too bad, we decided to go Bowling for date night BUT since Anika had a friend over, we decided to take them with us. Yes, we had Date Night plus two teenagers. Technically I guess it wasn't Date Night but we did indeed get cleaned up and go out & we didn't have the two Little One's so I'm counting it. Mom kept Annalee and Axle since we thought bowling with them would be kind of hard. Unfortunately, when we got to the Bowling Alley it was PACKED!! I mean like 18 in front of us on a waiting list packed. We had to veto that idea so we decided to go see what was playing at the movies. We were wanting to catch a 9:00 movie so we could be home at a reasonable hour to get the babies. Wouldn't you know that cinema only does a 10:00 showing so we had to veto that idea too. We ended up at the mall where Anika and Brooke did some shopping for Anika a new Under Armour sweatshirt. She couldn't find the one she was wanting so she ended up getting a new North Face instead. While we waited on them to shop, we grabbed some goodies & a seat in the middle of the mall and had us a snack. Hubby had a frozen yogurt from Orange Leaf & I had a bagel with blueberry cream cheese from Panera Bread! It was quite yummy.

Since we were pretty much out of options for the night we decided to at least have a good dinner. You can't go wrong with a good meal.

The food was pretty good although I thought my steak was a bit tough for the price I paid for it. I had Beef Tips with Mushrooms, Onions and Gravy & a Baked Potato. Of course in my opinion the best part of the meal was the rolls. Isn't that everyone's favorite part? My Hubby might disagree, I think he enjoyed the two tall glasses of beer he had a lot! We ended up being there forever. Hubby's cousin was working and we had not seen her in years. She ended up sitting with us once she clocked out and talking for a long time. Then my Cousin & Her Husband was there with some friends so they came over to chat too. We spent more time socializing than anything. I didn't mind though, it was nice seeing everyone.

We did make a stop by Walmart on the way home to let Anika look for a Sims Game. She couldn't find it so instead she bought chapstick. She honestly doesn't think she can go into a store without buying something. I found myself a pair of grey dress pants that I really liked & Hubby bought a small tool set.

By the time we got to Mom's and got the kids picked up & then got back home it was after 2:00 am. It was a really good night but a really long one. To say we were exhausted is an understatement.

Sunday I had planned on going to Church but I just couldn't get up in time. I'm seriously going to have to find a Church that has Sunday night service. I'm just not a morning person. Anika and I did some major grocery shopping on Sunday while Hubby & Axle worked outside tinkering around.

Sunday evening I made a new recipe for dinner. It was a Pizza Casserole I found off of Pinterest. It got mixed reviews at my house. Axle and Anika didn't like it at all, I thought it was just okay and Hubby really liked it. I'm not sure I'll make it again but hey, it was worth a shot.

My Dad came down to visit for awhile & Hubby had a buddy stop by for a bit. I wish I could tell you that I did anything productive on Sunday evening but I really didn't. It was an early night for Hubby since he had to get up at 3:30 for work this morning. I didn't get so lucky, it was well after 1:00 this morning when Axle finally went to sleep. That boy seriously has his days and nights mixed up.

Monday (Today) has NOT been good to me. Nope, not one single bit. I woke with a horrible toothache. I'm talking excruciating pain that is in comparison to my labor pains with my children. I honest to god thought my ear was going to just burst open. I've had sharp shooting pains all the way down to what feels like the bones in my jaw. It has been horrible. On top of that, mother nature thought it would be awesome of her to visit today. Yeah, I'm just a total mess.

I didn't send Anika to school this morning because frankly, I needed her help. I seriously was so miserable that there was no way I could watch Annalee and Axle. As soon as the dentist opened at 10:00, I left Anika here to sit with the Little Ones and I went to see Dr. Sword. He numbed my mouth with shots 3 different times trying to get it to numb and it just wouldn't. Apparently the infection is so bad that it won't allow the medicine to numb down into the roots of my tooth. Finally after the third set of shots, he gave up and sent me to my Family Doctor. Steven (my doctor) told me that it was a mix between an abcessed tooth and a severe sinus infection. Joy flipping Joy! He gave me a shot of antibiotics and a shot of steroids as well as he sent me home on 2 different kinds of oral antibiotics which he wants me to take at the same time. Seriously that is 3 antibiotics, I have a major infection. He also gave me a prescription for some pain medicine, thank goodness!

I stopped by Rite Aid and dropped off my prescription & then ran home and picked up a copy of the speeding ticket that I was supposed to be in Court on tomorrow. I swung by the Courthouse hoping someone could help me with it and that was really the only good thing about today. The Judge got it diverted for me which means as long as I don't get another or in any kind of trouble, I'm all good. I don't have to pay anything. That was wonderful news considering it was $175.00 and between the Dentist, Doctor and Medicine today, that kind of took all my extra. I picked up my medicine before heading home. I came home, took a pain pill and went to bed. I swear if Anika hadn't been here today to watch the little kids, I would have never made it.

I ventured up a little before 4:00 pm this afternoon. I straightened the kitchen and was going to try & make some dinner but I just couldn't do it. I had to take some more pain medicine and go back to bed. Hubby took Annalee and Ax out in the garage for awhile and his buddy stopped by for a bit. I rested (slept like a rock) the entire time. He came in this evening and fixed supper for the kids. They had Chicken, Shells n Cheese and Crescent Rolls. I knew dinner was done when I heard the fire alarm going off! I got up and tried to eat a bit myself but just couldn't. It hurts too bad. Hubby went to bed around 8:30 tonight. He has retraining (a class) tomorrow so he doesn't have to leave her till 5:00. I did some blog reading tonight and still have tons more I want to do. Both my babies are sound asleep and my Anika is already laying down watching television. I'm going to head that way soon & hope I can get a few hours in before my medicine starts wearing off.

I PRAY that tomorrow is a better day. I don't know how much more of this pain I can handle. If you pray, please whisper a prayer for me tonight.

On the agenda tomorrow- totally depends on how I feel. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Well friends...your caught back up on my life! Hope you all are having a good start to the week and I really hope my Monday isn't an indication of how the rest of my week is going to be. Fingers crossed!!!

Angie

I am so sorry about your tooth. What are they going to do about it? Will they have to put you out so you can have surgery? Did they give you pain pills? Hope you feel better soon!
