Morning Friends,
I posted my regular blog entry last night and told you I probably won't be back till Tuesday. Well, that is still semi-true. I won't have another regular post for you till Tuesday but I did want to drop in this morning and do two things. First off, I wanted to wish everyone a SAFE and HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!! Hope you all bring in the New Year doing what you love with those you love :)
Secondly, I wanted to post my December/January Goals for you. I did pretty good in December. Of course it could have been because my goals were very attainable for December but I'm still counting it.
December 2012- Goals Update
* Plan and Celebrate Anika's Birthday
This was a pretty easy one. Anika opted for a party in the garage with a bunch of her teenage friends. It required little decoration. We had a dance party of sorts with strobe lights, black lights and lots of music. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The girls ended up having a Slumber Party that night and as always, they had a blast. I still can't believe my "BABY" is 14 years old.
* Celebrate Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this was on of the best Christmas's I've had in a very long time. We celebrated with my Mom's extended side of the family a few days prior to Christmas and then we had a celebration at my Parent's on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day we spent our first Christmas at home EVER!!! It was such a blessing to be able to do that this year. I also attended a Church Service on Christmas night which did my heart good. It was pretty much a perfect holiday!
* Do some Random Acts of Kindness
I didn't get to do as many as I would have liked BUT I did do a few. I'm hoping this is something I can continue throughout 2013. I love giving, it makes me happy. I vowed that in 2013 I was going to do things that made me happy so this is for sure on the list! The things I did manage to do in December were:
* I bought 2 Lottery Tickets for a Cashier at a Gas Station
* I donated to the Salvation Army
* I made cookies for 2 guys at my Hubby's work
* I left a fairly large tip for a server at Ruby Tuesday's
* I donated canned food to a local food drive
* Do some Holiday Baking
Again, I had BIG plans for this one but I didn't get to do nearly as much as I had wanted. I did manage to make some Lemon Cookies (a few times per request) but that was about it. I had wanted to do a Holiday Baking Day but time just got away from me and it didn't happen. Next year I hope to plan much better for the month of December and have time to do more hands on stuff.
*Do some Holiday Projects with the Kids
This wasn't a complete success but it wasn't a complete fail either. We did do traditional things together like put up the tree, go look at Christmas Lights and so forth but I didn't get to do nearly as many hands on projects as I had wanted too. This year we did manage to make our own Hand Print Salt Dough Ornaments which was pretty awesome so I'm marking this one as DONE!!!!
* Have a Better Month
I can honestly tell you that this was a SUCCESS! I had a much better month in December and I'm starting January with a new positive outlook. I think 2013 is going to be a good year :)
* Go Look at some Christmas Lights
We had a great time doing this one. We go every year to the Park about an hour away and look at the lights. They have the cutest little train ride and the kids always love it. Axle had a blast doing it this year. He loved the train and he even loved the lights. Hopefully we will be able to continue this tradition for many years to come.
* See a Counselor
Anika and I both went to our first Counseling Session about 2 weeks ago. I liked our Counselor and so did Anika but I'm not sure if we will go back or not. It's over an hour away and is going to interfere with her school. She already misses a lot due to Orthodontist Appointments. I hate for her to miss weekly for Counseling appointments too. Frankly, I guess that is just an excuse, I just don't know if I want to go back or not.
* Attend Church
DONE- I'm proud to say I was successful at this and then some. I've actually attended Church 3 times in December and 1 of those times was on Christmas Night. I've really enjoyed the services and think I'll continue going some throughout 2013 too :)
* Celebrate my Dad's Birthday
We celebrated at my Parent's House with yummy food, cake and presents. It was a nice small celebration with just My Kids and I, My Parent's and My Grandma! I took loads of pics and we had a really good evening.
See friends, I told you I didn't do too shabby. I was actually quite proud of myself this month. Now on to January's Goals. It's a New Year and a Fresh Start. That makes me happy :)

Angie
Hey, Angie, good going girl! You did so well in December and I can tell your depression is lifting. Your January goals look attainable too. I think sometimes I make my goals for myself too hard and then I get frustrated when I can't do them. I have to take a page out of your book and set goals I can actually achieve. Have a wonderful New Year. Only a few more hours of 2012 and then a whole fresh new year to look forward to.
